Mews and Nips: new York City’s first cat cafe now open

I love seeing much more and much more cat cafés opening around the United States, and I’m particularly thrilled that there’s finally one in new York City. I’ll take any excuse to check out new York, and I can’t wait to get up there to see Meow Parlour for myself. located on the  lower Eastside, Meow Parlour combines sweet cats and delicious sweets in one magical place.  all of the cats who live at the cafe are available for adoption through partner organization Kitty Kind. check outs to the café are by reservation only, and they are currently booking two months in advance! check out MeowParlour.com for much more information.

If you missed any of the stories featured on The conscious cat this week, here’s a recap: On Monday, feline veterinarian Dr. fern Crist offered suggestions on how to transition your cat to a healthier diet, on Tuesday, we told you about seven foods you ought to never feed your cat, on Wednesday, we brought you a very unusual version of the well-known poem “The night before Catmas,” and on Friday, we shared our top ten cat books of 2014.

This first look inside new York City’s Meow Parlour is brought to you by James Mulcahy from Zagat. Enjoy!

Have a terrific weekend!

A two month waiting list, that is so nyc … but I hope that implies there will be a high turnover of kitties for adoption, hopefully numerous who check out will be wanting to adopt or at least foster, the need is dire.
