Finding homes for the Pomeranian dogs that southern California Pomeranian Rescue saves takes a lot of work. putting pictures of the dogs on Facebook, Petfinder.com and on our web site are only a few of the ways that we can put them in front of the public. The other way to promote the rescue and getting exposure for our dogs is to actually take them to adoption events that are held around southern California so that people actually get a chance to meet them, play with them, take them for walks, and even introduce their children and other dogs to them. We like to try new places that we haven’t been to before, and this coming Saturday may 19th we are going to Yucaipa CA. We have been invited by the Pet Scene bath & Boutique. There will be a Chili Cookoff, and a photo Booth, and pet adoptions.
Mommy wants me to share with you what we do to get ready. There is a long list of equipment that we take with us so that the dogs are kept safe and comfortable, and also so that they can be presented in a way that is attractive to potential adoptive families. I am helping mommy by telling her what goes into the automobile first.
We will be outside so we need the Easyup. It’s a collapsible shade cover that has its own really neat bag with wheels on it. We take along an extra shade cloth in case, so that the dogs can stay very cool.
We need to have plenty of adoption applications with us, and our cards too! even though this can all be downloaded from Facebook or our website, not everypawdy knows how to do this kind of stuff so we try to be as valuable as we can. Some peeps just like to have a paper in their hand and mommy is one of them.
Oh! The Bella Blankies! We like to take along a supply of Bella Blankies that mommy has already attached up just in case somepawdy asks!
Then we have a couple of purple totes, purple because that is our official color (if you don’t see purple then it isn’t us), and the smaller supplies are in those. There are treats for the doggies, our banners that you have seen in some of my other photos, some pretty ribbons to decorate our booth with, and the normal stuff like tape, scissors, clips, pens, paper, and things to wipe your paws with.
We also take a big mat for the ground, chairs, a little stepladder (that is mostly for my short Mommy),
We have some expandable pens for the dogs, water and pails that clip onto the sides of the pens so they don’t spill, lots of paper towels and poop bags and trash bags, and there is always something that we forget so we just have to make-do sometimes. and my stroller! We can’t forget my pink stroller. We have left some room for the ice chest that will go in just before we leave.
There are doggie automobile seats in the 2nd row seat and us dogs–Me, Rocky, and Harley–get to ride high so we can look out the windows. There will be other Foster mommies joining us with their fosters so we are looking forward to having a really good day and getting our dogs out to potentially meet their new furever families. The dogs will be bathed and brushed and looking their very best in buy to put their best paw forward! Oh, I’ve told mommy that she cannot have any of the chili if she expects me to ride home in the automobile with her.
