Mews and Nips: inspiring Tales of the UK’s Finest Felines

Every year, the UK’s largest feline rescue organization Cats Protection, holds its cat of the Year Awards. The award is given to cats who have transformed or even saved their humans’ lives. From cats who detect seizures to cats who help their humans cope with cancer treatments, the BBC featured all of the finalists, including Sparky, the tortie shown above who helps her human cope with health issues and post-traumatic tension disorder. visit BBC.com to read all of the stories of these inspurrational felines.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the conscious cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, we dealt with vertical peeing in cats (not to be confused with spraying,) on Tuesday, we featured Volana Kote’s tortoiseshell cat whisker jewelry line, on Wednesday, we ran the fourth installment in our Yochabel’s wisdom series, on Thursday, we featured our favorite probiotic supplements, and on Friday, we evaluated The little book of Bob: Life lessons from a Streetwise cat by James Bowen.

Are you planning on doing a little gardening this weekend? I hope you have as good a helper as the gentleman in today’s video!

Have a great weekend!

I love the video – but is his cat really being “helpful”? but then are they ever?!! That’s why we love them so much and their independence!

Sparky, you’re quite the distinct purr baby and I’m sending you kisses and hugs. and a very good question why the U.K. does great things for their felines when the USA seems to nothing but torture them. cheers for the U.K., Sparky and the human owner; G d Bless all of you.
